Welcome to our family of AKC, health tested golden retrievers located in Gillette, Wyoming. Our goldens make fantastic pets as well as working partners, and we put a focus on their health by utilizing genetic diversity tools alongside all of our usual OFA and genetic health testing! We currently have dogs excelling as valued family members, SAR, service work, agility, hunting, hunt test, dock diving, and therapy work. We have had a golden in our family since 2007.
All of our dogs are tested for genetic diversity using UC Davis to identify their haplotypes, genetic diversity and IR.

At Red Prairie Retrievers we raise and train Golden Retrievers in Gillette, Wyoming. Our dogs are always part of our family, in our home every day. We were blessed with our first golden in 2007 and our first litter of goldens in 2009. We formally established our breeding program in 2015 after a lifetime of experience working with dogs.
Our dogs are family and we want them to live as long as possible with as little of problems as possible, so we put a huge focus on health. Not only do we do our OFA to CHIC standard and recessive genetic testing, we also utilize UC Davis for their Genetic Diversity testing to identify their individual Haplotypes, Genetic heterozygosity, and Internal Relatedness to help us make educated breeding decisions.
We are members of Boomtown HRC, Treasure State AKC/HRC, and Mount Rushmore AKC/HRC club. It is our belief that the more we do with our dogs, the better their lives are, so aside from just field, we train our dogs towards earning their CGC+, TKN+, VHMA and participate in other fun sports like NADD Dock Diving, Air Retrieve, FastCat and Scent Work! We are also very blessed to get to work with a handful of trainers, including service and field to produce working field and service dogs that are donated to handlers in need. We do work with a couple co-own homes from time to time to ensure we keep our dogs out of kennels and in family homes!
